OUR STORY

Greater Works I.O. Jesus Christ Church, formerly known as Inside Out Church of Jesus Christ, has been privileged to work in the community since 1997. Founder, Bishop Harvey L. Brown, was once facing a life sentence in prison for being a "persistent felon". In prison, he began a spiritual journey which later resulted in a lifelong commitment to God.  He migrated to Savannah and began his mission to change lives. After working tirelessly for 25 years, Bishop Brown passed away, leaving his mission and vision in the hands of his wife, Shepherdess Brown.

Under the leadership of Shepherdess Brown, the church now has a 501(c)3 entitled Greater Works Community Development Center. Both entities work together, to help local citizens thrive in the community. Moreover, Greater Works has developed a partnership with America's Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, to serve over hundreds of families with free groceries. The church also has a prison outreach program that has been in operation for over 10 years. Dedicated volunteers visit inmates monthly, to provide inspiration, counseling services, and resources.

Additionally, for nearly a decade, Greater Works I.O. Jesus Christ has been a partner of the National Marines Toys for Tots. Annually, more than 200 children are gifted with free toys for Christmas! This program has been able to assist economically disadvantaged families through financial hardships, thus giving hope to the local community. Greater Works I.O. Jesus Christ also continues to provide free counseling services to those suffering marital issues, childhood trauma, substance abuse, and other mental health issues. Many of our volunteers have firsthand experience with unspeakable hardship and trauma and now devote themselves to helping others. Through enduring passion and love for humanity, Greater Works I.O. Jesus Christ is honored to serve others! With the donations that you sow, we can continue to grow! Thank you!
